I am beyond pleased to have as my guest today, Dr. Steven Stosny, author, therapist and founder of CompassionPower, a program founded on the belief that individuals and societies are more powerful when compassionate rather than aggressive.
My personal introduction to the work and writings of Dr Stosney was in 2011 when I was collecting behavioral research for my book “Changing Behavior”. I was fortunate enough to come across his blog on Psychology Today and added a quote from the article into the book.
The quote read: “Cohabitating couples don’t fight about what they think they fight about. It’s not the “big issues” they identify in surveys: money, sex or house work….Lovers fight when they believe their partners don’t care about how they feel. They fight about the pain of disconnection.”
The simplistic brilliance of that clarity made me an instant fan! When the producer of Living Above the Drama offered Dr. Stosney as a possible guest, I jumped at the opportunity to have him on the show.
Our pre interview was amazing! He shared and discussed much of the content of his new book EMPOWERED LOVE. Empowered Love is one of the most illuminating reads about how to create our ideal relationships and understand ourselves better – leading to greater compassion and self-esteem, which then leads to more fulfilling and 3 enduring relationships.
As a relationship expert He has appeared on the Today Show, the Opray Winfrey Show, been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times and other media outlets.
